French EPR for furniture and bedding

Updated 15 October 2026 · by Bachir Djebaili, founder of REP·Pro

Direct answer: The French furniture scheme covers furniture and bedding placed on the French market: seats, tables, storage, beds, mattresses, garden furniture, household and professional. Two eco-organisations are approved: Ecomaison for household furniture and Valdelia for professional furniture. The producer is the one who first places the item on the French market; a producer established abroad can appoint an authorised representative established in France. One unique identifier for the scheme.

What falls in this category

Furniture and bedding: seats, tables, storage, kitchen and bathroom furniture, beds, mattresses and bed bases, children's furniture, garden furniture, and their parts sold as such. The eco-organisation's nomenclature structures the declaration by product family, in units and weights.

Who the texts call the producer

The person who manufactures in France, imports, or sells at a distance from abroad to French buyers, under its name or brand, furniture of the scheme, or who first places it on the French market. A furniture brand in Poland or Germany shipping to French customers is the producer for those items; a producer established abroad may appoint an authorised representative established in France. You make the determination, from the texts.

The eco-organisations

Ecomaison is approved for household furniture (and also for toys, DIY and garden goods and some building products); Valdelia for professional furniture. The producer joins the one matching its market; the contribution follows the eco-organisation's published scale.

The number

What MyEPR does for this category

Under the mandate, REP·Pro, established in France, joins the eco-organisation you choose for this category, obtains your unique identifier, files the declarations from the volumes you provide and remains your contact in France. The eco-contributions are invoiced by the eco-organisation at its published rates and re-invoiced to you at cost; the plan price is the only fee. One category is the Starter plan (€29 a month or €249 a year, 12-month plan); with other categories it counts towards Pro or Complete. Pricing · Mandate · How it works.

This page describes the French texts and the service. It is you who determine whether your products fall under this category and whether your company is the producer: the criteria are those of the texts, and the eco-organisations publish their own guides. MyEPR registers you for the categories you tick; it does not decide them for you.
