Cdiscount and the French EPR number (IDU): what to provide

Updated 15 October 2026 · by Bachir Djebaili, founder of REP·Pro

Direct answer: Cdiscount, a French marketplace, asks its sellers for the French unique identifier (IDU, format FRxxxxxx_xx) of the EPR categories they sell in, as French marketplaces do under the French texts. A seller established abroad obtains it through a registration with the eco-organisation of each category, which an authorised representative established in France can make under mandate. It is you who determine which categories your products fall under.

What Cdiscount asks

As a French marketplace, Cdiscount applies the French texts to its sellers: for the categories they sell in, sellers hold a French unique identifier or fall under the marketplace's own arrangements. Cdiscount's seller terms and help pages set the current wording and prevail over this page. The French side does not change: one registration per category, one identifier per category.

What the number is

The French unique identifier, FRxxxxxx_xx, issued through an eco-organisation and listed in the ADEME register. How to read it →

What a representative does for a Cdiscount seller

Under mandate, REP·Pro joins the eco-organisation of each category you tick, obtains the identifiers and files the declarations from your volumes. You enter the identifier in Cdiscount's seller space; the mandate is your proof of representation in France. Eco-contributions are re-invoiced at cost; the plan is the only fee.

What MyEPR gives you for this channel

A representative established in France named in a written mandate, the registration with the eco-organisation of each category you tick, the unique identifier per category as soon as it is issued, the declarations filed from your volumes. The identifier is what you enter in the channel's compliance screen; the mandate is what you show if the channel asks who represents you in France. Plans from €29 a month, 12-month plan, no setup fee. Pricing · How it works.

MyEPR is not affiliated with this marketplace and reports what it publishes for its sellers, as read on the date shown; the marketplace's own help pages prevail. It is you who determine which EPR categories your products fall under; this page does not say that you are a producer.

FAQ

Cdiscount uses the word IDU. Is it the same as Amazon's UIN?

Yes: IDU is the French term (identifiant unique), UIN the English rendering used by Amazon. Same number, same format FRxxxxxx_xx, one per category.

Does Cdiscount declare for me?

French texts allow a marketplace to bear the obligations for the products it sells on behalf of sellers who do not hold their own registration; whether and how Cdiscount does so is in Cdiscount's own seller terms, which prevail. Holding your own registration gives you a number valid for all your channels.

Where do I get the number?

From a registration with the eco-organisation of each category; a producer established abroad can appoint a representative established in France. MyEPR registers you for the categories you tick and forwards each identifier when issued.
